As anyone reading this probably knows, we bought our first home back in June, a 2-bedroom/1.5-bathroom townhome with a happiness-inducing kitchen on the hippest street in downtown Philadelphia.
I recorded this video a couple weeks ago, before taking down our sparkly tree and wreaths. Yes, I decorated for the holidays. That was a first. I don't know what came over me. I invite you to come on a virtual visit to our happy little home, a.k.a The Nichols Pub!

New Year
It has been half a year since I last posted here, and that was my only post in 2012, but here is a video that recaps some of the highlights from our past year.
Each year for the past five years or so, Squirelly (a small squirrel/rodent-looking Christmas tree ornament made of pine needles and other organic materials) has been fostered by a different part of the Wheeler family (my mom's side), joining his foster family for important events, vacations and adventures, and sometimes even work. His experiences each year get recorded in a scrapbook that he takes with him from family to family. From Christmas 2011 to shortly before Christmas 2012, he was with Team Nichols. I finished updating his scrapbook so close to the time he had to leave us that I wasn't able to scan and save copies of the new pages, so in my haste, this video was the best documentation I could secure. Many of you have met Squirelly over the past year, so you might find yourself on these pages.
Squirelly flew back out to California to spend Christmas day 2012 with the extended Wheeler family, and is now in Australia where he will spend a year with the newleyweds Mr. and Mrs. Mason. We will miss him, but we look forward to seeing where his adventures take him over the coming year!
